Status of CD Set of Katha Sri Guru Granth Sahib

As many of you already know, the Katha of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has completed on May 05, 2008. We have been editing the audio files of Katha to remove any unwanted noises. The editing is expected to be completed in the month of July.

There will be a new single set compiled for this katha, which will contain approximately 16-18 CDs. It will include the katha from the first 6 CD's included in Gurparasad CD set. In order to keep the cost low, the tracks will be re-arranged to utilize the full capaciy of the CDs.

We are excepting to have the new CD set available towards the end of August, 2008.

7 Nitnem Banis sateek has been recorded by Giani Ji. The katha in this album is very brief and very simple. The total sateek is 8 hours long. The main purpose of this album is to give basic understanding of the nitnem banis' meanings. The album is currently being edited. It will be released on April 13th, 2008 from Stockton Gurdwara Sahib.

Katha Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Giani Thakur Singh Ji started katha in November, 2006 at El Sobrante Gurdwara Sahib, El Sobrante, California, USA. The katha is currently in progress. It has reached Ang 1150 as of 03/26/2008. The Katha is expected to be completed in the coming 30-40 days. There will bhog ceremony celebrated in El Sobrante Gurdwara Sahib from June 5th-June 7th. We will start publishing the katha recordings in near future. (Gurparsad) was released for this katha.

Our goal is to spread the katha in every corner of the world, specially to the folks who does not have access to the Internet. In the near future, depending upon our financial streghth, we envision to offer free MP3 players to the indiviuals who are financially uncapable of acquiring one. All of us together, as a Guru Ji's family, can spread this parachar open hearted, openly in worldwide. Let's not leave any corner of the world where katha is not available.

With this view in mind, we are reaching out to the sangat members to help us distribute the media around the globe. We have many sewa organizations joining us from different parts of the world. We need to get more volunteers. Read more ...
